Beautiful Snow

Juneau has some really beautiful Winter days. So far this was one of my favorites.

I was at work and we were pretty slow. I looked up and saw right out the window that there were huge beautiful flurries of soft white snow. I called Chris and told him to look outside too!

Everything looked so gentle, I had to run outside and get a few pictures.

It is quite a good view for being at work.

The lighting during this snow was incredible! Too bad I couldn't play in it more and I only had my point and shoot camera!

A little later I went out and took a little walk around the hotel and it felt so good outside! So fresh!

It is my favorite to watch the snowy white evening sky slowly turn blue, and the more the sun fades away the deeper blue everything turns.

I just love love love this picture! I took it in the hotel's parking lot!

I love writing in the snow!

Alaska is gorgeous! I wish I could keep all of Alaska in a picture frame on my wall!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!! Hoppy Valentine's Day!

Chris and I had to work on Tuesday so we celebrated our Valentine's Day on Monday!

I drew this cute little bunny card, and emailed it to all of my family! HOPPY VALENTINE'S!!!

Chris bought me some GORGEOUS ROSES!!! 

And since we are here in Alaska in a tiny apartment we don't have any vases, pitchers or anything to put them in, so I tried the blender first but they just didn't look right. Then, I found a Tea Kettle in the back of the cupboard and they look stunning in it!!!! 

These are the gifts Chris and I got for each other, it looks like more than it really is.

My PERFECT HANDSOME HUSBAND, who is so good to me, treated me by making this AMAZING Steak and mashed potato dinner!!! It was really really yummy! He is so so so sweet!

Our table space is limited, but we don't mind being close!

Look it is so fresh and hot you can see the steam coming off the steak and potatoes!

DESSERT was just as great and special!

I made this amazing brownie layer dish for Chris. It is: brownie on bottom then oreo crumbs then oreo cream!

Chris surprised me and gave me home-made CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES!!!

After our amazing romantic meal we opened our gifts to each other . . .

  

    I keep asking for a puppy and Chris got me a darling Valentine puppy! I named him Mr. Valentine!

Chris got his favorite soda and all kinds of other goodies he likes to snack on, as well as a few other things from his wish list!

This Lens is a special gift that Chris and my Dad both financed to buy me! It is the perfect gift for me and I am so grateful to both Chris and Daddy! I love you both! Thank you thank you!!!

While preparing for Valentine's Day we shopped around at a few stores to get the perfect gifts, and look how over the top our local Fred Meyers was on Valentine's Day!!
(The store we go to for everything here in Juneau)

Chris and I had a wonderful beautiful day and we wish all our family a Happy Valentine's Day as well filled with Love!!! XOXOXO

Shrine of St. Therese

Chris and I had a beautiful day off today!!!

We thought we would go explore a place called the St. Therese Shrine. We heard it is somewhat of a tourist destination.

This is the small Catholic Chapel that is a part of the Shrine to St. Therese. It is quite beautiful but not very ornate.

The Cathedral and most everything else is hidden in this small patch of trees on the coast.

In case you can't read the sign it says "Shrine Chapel." It is a little funny because there is pretty much no where else to go except to the large group of trees with the long path leading to it.

 

 The door to the Chapel is beautiful, and the inside of the Chapel had some beautiful natural light!!!

 

This is a bronze statue of St. Therese in front of the Chapel.

There are 15 of these "memorial stone displays" all over the grounds (don't know what else to call them). They were quite beautiful with the moss grown up on them, gave it some gorgeous colors.

The grounds were really beautiful!

The trees, mosses and rocks were so colorful!!! Not to mention the bright blue mountains peeking through in the background, all make it so gorgeous here!!!

The view of the coast was quite beautiful too!

 Everything is so blue due to atmospheric perspective. I love it!!!

My cute husband ran off to the water while I took pictures.

This sign marks the other Shrine features, but we couldn't see any of them because they were covered in a blanket of white snow.

That leaves us with an adventure for another day.

Super Bowl Sunday!!

GO GIANTS!!!

Super Bowl XLVI - Giants vs. Patriots

Chris and I aren't huge about following football, and if we do it is usually college ball, but we always have to watch the super bowl!

It is a long standing tradition in my family to watch the super bowl. Girls watch for the commercials that businesses pay millions of dollars for, and boys watch the actual game! Chris and I had to keep that going especially with the yummy food we always make up in honor of the game!

I have the absolute best husband who enjoys being my chef! Chris is the excellent chicken chef!!! He knows how to make killer chicken, so I let him do that! While I prepped everything else so we could get it all done at the same time.

Look at this amazing little feast we had! We made little chicken sandwiches with honey and those amazing hawaiin rolls!

Look at that chicken! My man is good!!!

Kelly Clarkson did a pretty good job singing the National Anthem this year.

But I liked Miranda Lambert and her PINK GLITTERY microphone better!

My vote for this year's best super bowl commercial . . .

I LOVED the Volkswagen commercial where the cute chubby puppy decides he needs to lose weight.

He does all kinds of cute little doggy work outs . . .
Once he loses the weight he can run down the street and keep up with the red Volkswagen. So cute!


We had a bunch of fun! After all GIANTS WON!!!
