Yesterday: Saturday, September 24th was just a crazy crazy day!!!!
Chris and I embarked upon a River Adventure. We attended our ward activity which started at 10am and was supposed to end at 12pm.
However, it did not end for us until 5pm!!!!

We do not have to kayak again for ten years, and don't need to work out all week!
Chris did not lose his job, his boss laughed at how red he was and said his story checked out!
We saw 3 Moose on the River and Chris was within 15 feet of one! Such beautiful creatures!
AND. . . CHRIS GOT HIS BBQ!!! The Bishop felt bad for loosing us and brought us a weeks work of brisket!
That is what we are eating tonight!

This was definitely an Adventure we won't be forgetting anytime ever!
Chris and I embarked upon a River Adventure. We attended our ward activity which started at 10am and was supposed to end at 12pm.
However, it did not end for us until 5pm!!!!

Our ward decided to take a bunch of canoes and rafts down a river locally here in Idaho.
Chris and I took out the only two Kayaks.
The game plan was to enter the River at the destination I have marked as the starting point and end two hours later. However the people who planned the trip never looked at a map and had no clue how long it would really take. We were supposed to meet at 1 with the rest of our ward for a huge BBQ. Our bishop loves to smoke brisket and have pulled pork sandwiches.
However at one point on the River we got stuck in a really shallow area. We took a few minutes to dislodge ourselves. Meanwhile the Canoes we were keeping up with, saw us get stuck and decided to leave us anyways. A few hours later the head canoe wondered where we went. The canoes that saw us get stuck and abandoned us said "oh they got stuck a few hours ago". OOPS.
Well Chris and I had to venture on our own. We had no idea what time it was and had no cell phone. We had to guess at the time, and we kept thinking to ourselves it should be taking this long, maybe we are lost! However we kept going. That was our only option!
Chris kept saying at least we get to have some of Bishop's BBQ!
Finally we saw a house through the surrounding forest and we docked ourselves on land and hike up this property that was so run down it looked abandoned. We hoped someone still lived there. We knocked at the door and thank goodness this kind-hearted old woman, who could barely walk, opened the door. We talked to her on the porch and she told us what time it was and where we were on the river and told us where we should go. From her house we were about 2 miles from our final destination.
We continued on the River in our tiny Kayaks and around 5pm we reached land. The canoes that left us had arrived about 30 minutes before we did. And all of the rafts had given up hours before we did, they had their cells phones and called the bishop to pick them up in time for the BBQ.
When we arrived everyone had come to eat and left. We were the last ones and there was no traces of food for us. Chris was two hours late for work, and we were grumpy. I felt terrible because the whole long miserable day poor Chris just longed for the Bishop's BBQ! And he didn't get any.
We had to trace down our belongings and find a ride home, our ride had left us.
Finally we got home. We jumped in the shower, ordered a pizza and picked it up on the way to taking Chris to work. Chris ate and suffered through two hours of work. We are both badly sunburnt, and super soar.
